Terms of Service — Mountain Quest Trail

These Terms govern your use of Mountain Quest Trail ("the service"), provided by Mountain Quest Academy ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

1. Who can use the service

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to create an account. Children may use the service only under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who manages the account.

2. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe.
One account per family. You may add as many child "hero" profiles as you like under your subscription.
You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter about your family.

3. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Mountain Quest Trail is a paid subscription billed monthly ($9.99/month) or annually ($79/year), as selected at signup. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You can cancel any time from My Account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then.

Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice. If you don't agree to a price change, you can cancel before it takes effect.

5. Curriculum content and third-party trademarks

Mountain Quest Trail helps families plan and track their progress through curriculum they own. Curriculum content (lessons, readers, workbooks) is the property of the original publisher. Trademarks referenced in course catalogs (e.g. "The Good and the Beautiful") belong to their respective owners. Mountain Quest Trail is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any curriculum publisher.

6. Acceptable use

Don't try to break, probe, or overload the service.
Don't upload content that's illegal, abusive, or infringes someone else's rights.
Don't resell access to the service or share your account with users outside your immediate family.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the information you put into the service (your family's profiles, notes, and progress). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content only as needed to operate the service for you.

8. Service availability

We work hard to keep the service running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may schedule maintenance, change features, or discontinue the service with reasonable notice.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't warrant that the service will be error-free, or that any information you store will be 100% protected against loss — please back up anything important to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

11. Termination

You can close your account at any time from My Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, or that we believe pose a risk to the service or other users.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Utah.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you by email. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
